FLOR DEL CAMPO/PROYECTO ALDEA GLOBAL
 |
Flor
del Campo and six other slum communities on the outskirts
of Tegucigalpa, have been in partnership with Amigos de
Honduras since 1992. Projects have included replacing
ramshackle houses with sturdy cement block homes; creating
hundreds of micro-businesses with single mothers to provide
income through the sale of goods and services in their
own homes; developing the youth through workshops, scholarships
and Bible study and reaching out though the local churches
in the marginal slum areas. Proyecto Aldea Global also
has an eye clinic and computer school outreach within
its facilities. |
HOGAR DE NINOS EMANUEL
Located
in San Pedro Sula, Emanuel Children’s home provides
a structured, loving and safe Christian home for street
children who have been orphaned or abandoned. Kindergarten
is held on site while the older children attend public
school. These children and youth would have lived in
fear for their very lives had they not been received
into this home. Emanuel, “God With Us,”
is more than just a name to them. The home was started
in 1975. |
